Southern Highlands Stays

Just two hours from Sydney and Canberra, the Southern Highlands bursts to life in spring with its lush landscapes, charming villages, and vibrant gardens. With that beautiful spring sun shining and stunning blossoms blooming, this picturesque region is the perfect spot for a countryside weekend.

Whether you’re visiting the floral glory of Tulip Time, indulging in the local wineries, exploring the boutiques, or simply want to embrace spring in the countryside - here are my favourite accommodation options for your spring stay in the Highlands:

LINKS HOUSE

Warm and welcoming – Links House is a lovely hotel to explore the Southern Highlands from. Set in Burradoo, just a short drive from Bowral, this lovely established garden hotel feels instantly like home. Enjoy a wine by the fire in the drawing room at the end of your day, before dining at Ethos, the in-house restaurant with beautiful food. This feels more like a bed-and-breakfast than a hotel, with wonderful service and cosy interiors.

MILTON PARK

The quintessential country manor hotel – set on the most incredible grounds of rambling established gardens and rolling hills, with old English country charm everywhere you turn. Once a private estate, Milton Park oozes with old fashioned country hospitality. With a spa, gym, and tennis court all on site, not to mention the most beautiful pool house you’ve ever seen, you can easily fill a weekend on the estate and never leave. Wander the gardens, enjoy a wine on the porch or in the polo bar, dine at the lovely Hordens restaurant and properly unwind.

MOSS MANOR

This stunning boutique art hotel in Moss Vale is quite honestly breathtaking. Eight beautifully appointed rooms, each with its own personality and style. Not a single detail has been overlooked in the curation of this space - perfectly suited art adorning the walls, with the most sublime service and hospitality I think I’ve ever experienced anywhere. Moss Manor is just off the main street, making it the perfect jump off spot to enjoy a mooch around town and spend your days exploring before coming back to the beautiful lounge area for a nightcap. A thoroughly unique hotel where the only issue is trying to choose which of the stunning rooms to book!

OSBORN HOUSE

The ultimate in understated luxe, Osborn House is the most stunning retreat in the bush. Incredible service, beautiful amenities and impeccable style and interiors, this hotel is a must-stay for any accommodation lover. Tucked in behind Bundanoon, this unassuming spot will take your breath away. Osborn House has it all - an award-winning spa, a swimming pool with amazing views out to a national park, a gym, tennis court, and amazing dining options. Instagram-worthy views from every angle – this hotel is honestly world-class in style and service. Park up and nest in – from the moment you drive in, you won’t want to ever leave.

THE POTTING SHED

This is easily my favourite little cosy garden escape, and just an easy stroll into Bowral. The Potting Shed at Bunya House is such a gorgeous space nestled in the gardens of the main house, tucked in behind the most beautiful kitchen garden. Perfect for couples or a romantic solo stay - enjoy a long soak in the bathtub overlooking the dahlias and foxgloves after a day of exploring the Southern Highlands.

WOODLAND STUDIO

Immerse yourself in the idyllic countryside with a charming farm-stay at the sublime Woodland Studio in beautiful Exeter in the Southern Highlands NSW.  With the warmest hospitality from Margot, nest into your light-flooded studio and enjoy the farm views, before meeting the picture-perfect flock of sheep and alpacas across the acres of bushland.
