STAY: Cosy Winter Stays

Winter has arrived, and there is nothing more dreamy that hauling up in a beautiful countryside stay to nest in for a weekend of cosy bliss. If you’re craving some crisp country air, frosty mornings on a farm or chilly evenings snuggled up by a roaring fire – I’ve gathered together five of my favourite stays for your next wintery getaway.

ELLINGTON GROVE

Set in beautiful Candelo, a nostalgic country town just 20 minutes inland from the Sapphire Coast, is the stunning vintage cottage of Ellington Grove. The whole place is practically a Wes Anderson film set, with beautifully curated touches reminiscent of the golden age of jazz. Read more: https://www.oakwood-digital.com/travel-guides/candelo

THE BARN AT NGUURRUU

For the ultimate farm stay in luxury comfort, The Barn at Nguurruu is a truly special experience. A meticulously converted stable with every luxury comfort – before you settle in by the fire, be sure to take a guided farm tour with Murray for an immersive understanding on the amazing work they’re doing to restore the land here. WOODLAND STUDIO

Immerse yourself in the idyllic countryside with a charming farm-stay at the sublime Woodland Studio in beautiful Exeter in the Southern Highlands NSW.  With the warmest hospitality from Margot, nest into your light-flooded studio and enjoy the farm views, before meeting the picture-perfect flock of sheep and alpacas across the acres of bushland. MILL CABIN

Surrounded by snow gums and overlooking snow-capped mountains, Mill Cabin is the perfect mix of private luxury and peaceful retreat. For an incredibly special secluded stay, enjoy the native wildlife in their alpine woodlands around the cabin, before settling in for an evening by the crackling fire.

THE POTTING SHED

This is easily my favourite little cosy garden escape, and just an easy stroll into Bowral. The Potting Shed at Bunya House is such a gorgeous space nestled in the gardens of the main house. Perfect for couples or a romantic solo stay – enjoy a long soak in the bathtub overlooking the dahlias and foxgloves after a day of exploring the Southern Highlands.
